Today I thought I’d talk a bit about cycling and how it can change your life.
I started cycling at the age of 46 because I didn’t like my legs. No, that’s not quite accurate. I HATED my legs! What type of exercise is best for toning legs I asked? Running was not an interest for me so cycling was my next best choice.
I started slowly and each time I rode I felt challenged to see just how far I could go. My first ride as I recall was 6 miles and boy was I proud! Each time I’d go out for a ride I’d see how far I could ride that day. I gradually built up my skills and stamina to where I am proud to say I’ve ridden 96 miles in one day and I’ve done that more than once.
Now, after 11 years on my bike and 8+ years of living in AZ I now own my own road bike touring business, I am running a cycling challenge for women, a day camp for kids this summer and I have an online store! Not bad huh? And it all started because I wanted my legs to look toned and strong.
What will you do that will transform your life? Staying fit and enjoying the beauty of nature is not too shabby. Cycling has made me many friends, both here and around the country. I’m involved in something that I’m passionate about and I’m loving my life!
So dust off your bike,check the air pressure in your tires, put on your helmet and go for a ride! “Be The Motor”!
